Cuts in Vegas helps US Airways Cut Losses
As the second busiest air carrier at McCarran International Airport, US Airways has been able to narrow their losses for the fourth quarter using a strategy that consisted of major cutbacks in Las Vegas. These cutbacks are part of a new strategy to be implemented by the company.
In October, the Tempe, Arizona based company began developing a plan that focuses on realigning operations on the company’s hub airports in Phoenix, Philadelphia and Charlotte. Unfortunatley this means that Las Vegas will be trimming its flight schedule and be cut to 36 operations a day in McCarran International which is a signifigant drop from the airline having 140 flights a day here.
